RANGELEY – At the conclusion of its executive session on November 19 the Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to induct Tiki White as Rangeley’s new Town Manager. The oath of office was administered by Municipal Clerk Ethna Thompson. For the past seven years White has acted as Airport Manager, General Administrative Assistant, and Administrative Assistant to the Town Manager.
As to her goals, “You always hope to bring better things,” White said. “You always want to make it better – there’s always room for improvement.” She added that the support she received from the community during the selection process was heartwarming. “People were so kind and helpful, it means more to me than I can say.”
White also expressed her gratitude to the town’s current department heads, staff and employees. “The department heads wrote a very generous letter to the Board of Selectmen supporting me to be a candidate of the Town Manager position. I can’t express how appreciative I am of the Department Heads and all employees – not only for the letter of support that they wrote, but without all their support and all of them coming together as a team, I wouldn’t be able to do this job without them. And that is 110% the truth!”
A native of Strong, Tiki White lives in Phillips with her husband, Donnie Beedy, originally from Kingfield. She enjoys flower gardening, reading, 4-wheeling, “and spending lots of time with friends and family.” The couple have two dogs: Fisher, a springer spaniel, and a Shih Tzu-Pomeranian mix named Honey, whom White described as “a little furry bundle of love.”
During the interview with White, Fire Chief Tim Pellerin leaned through the door and said, “This is the best Town Manager inMaine, and you can quote me on that.”
